Abstract
This panel paper presents research activities related to modeling portability between electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulation programs using DLL programming. Although modern EMT computer programs are based on sophisticated graphical user interfaces, each program has its own modeling interface and model development methods. There are no portability or interoperability standards between various EMT applications. This issue creates significant and time consuming problems for software users. It is often required in the same organization to perform studies using different tools or to integrate models provided by manufacturers using proprietary or other incompatible simulation environments. This paper focuses on the implementation and usage of the DLL interface provided in EMTP-RV to incorporate models developed in external software environments.
