Abstract
According to the latest report, the US has been the fastest growing wind power market in the world for the past few years. Wind projects accounted for more than one third of all new US electric generating capacity in 2007, and are on a projected track to becoming a convincing contributor to the US power mix. The Department of Energy estimates that wind power will generate 20 percent of nation´s electricity by 2030. This aggressive growth in wind power will pose a great challenge to the utility industry.
