  • Abstract
Summary form only given. In this paper, a novel gate driver circuit for pulse power generator based on IGBT stacks is proposed. Proposed scheme consists of high voltage cables with simple and reliable gate circuits which gate signal and power is delivered by simple current loop from single phase full bridge inverter. For gating signal synchronization, full bridge inverter and pulse transformer generates on-off signals of IGBT gating with gate power simultaneously. It provides many advantages such as needless of independent power source for gate driver, simple and reliable protection of semiconductor switches from short circuit protection and easiness of controlling pulse width. Simulation and experimental results shows that performance of gate driver system and it was proved that proposed scheme can be used for pulsed power supply based on solid state Marx generator.
