Abstract :
In the paper the analysis of switching overvoltages originated by line energizing is given. The analysis is performed with a mathematical model for calculation of switching overvoltages in the network with concentrated parameters with Laplacian transformations. The simple system, which consists of a generator, a transformer and a line, has been observed. Using a derived mathematical model of the system and the applied method, a computer program has been written in MATLAB. The program enables the calculation of the overvoltages and their graphical presentation. The program allows the analysis of lines with different lengths and nominal voltages for the cases with or without residual electricity. The results that are obtained have been used for analyzing transients for the different real cases, which are the most frequent ones used in the practice.
