Abstract :
This paper aims at analysing partial discharge (PD) signals produced by certain defects by applying statistical data analysis techniques. The outcome of this analysis is then used in the process of recognition of types of defects taking place in the insulation. A total of eighteen statistical operators were developed and used in the process of partial discharge recognition. Three MATLAB programs were developed to carry out the necessary extensive analysis of the partial discharge experimental data.
