Abstract :
In-vehicle wireless communication (IVC) has lately attracted attention because of offering the passenger amenity such as wireless seat-monitor, hands-free phone, portable navigation system and many other equipments. Therefore many papers have been published on IVC. Considering high speed video transmission and less interference to the outside, the use of unlicensed 60GHz band is preferable relative to microwave. In this paper, we have investigated 60GHz in-vehicle wireless channel including the effect of passenger and antenna location. As a result, the delay spread is shown to decrease with the number of passenger. Also the leakage of in-vehicle 60GHz radio to the outside has been measured and discussed. The leakage is shown to be small relative to the 3~10 GHz band.
