Abstract

The quick increase of telecommunication exchanges, especially Internet services allow us to create a virtual factory distributed in time and space. The main goals of this net will be: to put in the hands of distance users some software tools like CNC simulators, technical databases, planning and scheduling software packages, to help the exchange in the manufacturing community, to develop distance driving of real production processes and distance testing of software and mechanical tools, to improve distance learning capacities including labs and practical placements
