Abstract :
A PRMA permitting multiple reservation with a multibeam adaptive array has been investigated considering uplink performance improvement. A downlink multiplexing method for TDD packet radio networks with a multibeam adaptive array is investigated. The transmission weight is calculated using the array response vector obtained in the uplink, and the downlink SINR of each terminal is estimated from the obtained weights to decide the multiplexing possibility. In downlink slots, the base station searches states of the downlink slots in the previous frame for the number of multiplexing users. If it is not equal to the maximum, the base station selects terminals, additionally or newly, from limited terminals with long packet delay. The computer simulation results show the improvement in throughput and average packet delay without increasing the processing load
