Abstract :
Nowadays dc-dc switching converters are the most applicable converter in the power electronic applications. Apart from electronic power supplies, they are used as power factor corrector (PFC) and input harmonic reduction. Regarding importance of the performance investigating of these converters, in this paper we propose a new fast simulation algorithm that is able to predict PFC performance. Although this algorithm reduces simulation time, the accuracy of results remains acceptable. As the boost converter is a typical solution for a PFC converter, this configuration is chosen as the base configuration and the proposed algorithm with two different control methods is applied to this configuration. In order to evaluate the proposed method, the results are compared to the results obtained from other types of simulation such as Spice simulation results.
