Abstract :
The small signal models of V2 control without/with slope compensation are derived. It is verified that the loop with compensation can keep stable, even though the duty factor is higher than 0.5. The paper compares V2 control with current-mode control. The analysis shows that V2 control has much higher DC gain than current-mode control, and, by careful design, V2 control can have larger bandwidth than current-mode control. This is why the V2 control technique has a faster transient response than current-mode control with load current step change.
