  • Abstract
A technique to generate arbitrary narrow pulses is developed by using microstrip circuits. The developed pulse duration can be the order of picoseconds and be adjustable. The primary principle is using wave multi-reflection features in a nonuniform transmission line to obtain the desired amplitude waveform. Combining the reflection and transmission coefficients at each discontinuity, general formulas are derived to synthesize the section configurations of the transmission line.
