Abstract
The paper discusses Technical Data (TD) rights regulations and policies, and presents specific guidelines for the preparation of a Technical Data Strategy (TDS). Practical criteria for decision making regarding Technical Data options are identified and assessed through the conduct of a Business Case Analysis (BCA). While processes and methodologies have been put into place, lack of guidance and governance in implementing Technical Data Strategies has limited their effectiveness.
