Abstract :
A linear array can be applied to both low-level and intermediate-level processing tasks. The design of a semi-single instruction, multiple data (SIMD) linear array for low-level processing tasks is described. Its special features include a dual-communication channel, a decoding network and a binary unit. Its potential applications in intermediate-level processing are also addressed
