  • Abstract
    In order to identify and locate faults in large power systems quickly, efficiently and accurately, this paper has presented a method of detecting and diagnosing faults. The method involving of a distributed architecture, integrated multiple communication protocols and the compound standard storehouse is used to analyze the real-time and historical data collected by the equipment. For this purposes, a cross-protocol data integration architecture is proposed which can seamlessly connect a variety of commonly-used protocol communications for the power system to conduct the transmission, analysis and storage of data of various types of controllers in accordance with the unified standards. A XML-based system configuration information description method is offered for standardizing the information concerning all kinds of equipment, parameters and faults in the power system. Also a fault diagnosis algorithm is presented which can be used for locating the faults in the system.
