Abstract
The radar displays for SS7 have evolved from HP´s research into the management of networked systems. The personnel at the Network Communications Lab in Bristol have been applying the concepts of quality management to networks for several years. They have been researching and developing techniques for both the strategic and tactical management domain and have successfully applied them to the management of data networks with impressive results. The radar displays are the graphical interface to one of these techniques offering a powerful solution for short term management of faults and performance.
