Family business succession planning plays a critical and effective role on the longevity development of Chinese family business. The Chinese family business is currently in the phase of intergenerational transmission, most of which were established at the beginning of reform and opening up. They are facing the problem of abdication and succession options, how to achieve the successful family business tradition has become the most supreme challenge for enterprise development. This article describes the importance of family business succession planning for the smooth transfer of our current situation. And this paper selects three key elements of succession planning to promote the success of family business heritage, which are the choice of successor from the family business, ownership and management control perspective.
