Abstract :
This paper presents a new CT saturation block diagram for generator differential protection using a mathematical morphology operation to accurately detect the time difference between fault occurrence and differential current emergence instant. The simulation results show that the scheme can effectively prevent generator differential protection mal-operation due to current resulting from CT saturation.
