Abstract
SRMs are attracting considerable interest because of its advantages relating to manufacturing and robustness. In order to solve the acoustic moist and vibration problem, research has been done using free vibration tub. However, the effects of mountings on the vibrations in the SRM have been neglected. In many industrial applications, vibrations and acoustic noise of electric machines are sensitive to motor mountings. This paper examines the effects of the mounting on the resonant frequencies and in particular the deviation from free vibration results. These results can serve as a guide to the industrial application of switched reluctance motors.
