Abstract :
Various sea-spectrum models were proposed by different authors. However, for the lack of accurate measured data, every sea-spectrum model is different from others. In this work, three sea-spectrum models are closely studied, namely, the Durden-Vesecky model, the Apel model, and the NRL model. The two-scale model is extended to calculate the backscattering coefficient from the sea surface for any azimuth angle. The distinctive characteristics of the three sea-spectrum models are discussed in term of their energy distribution, the second-order statistical characteristics, and the backscattering characteristics.
