Abstract :
A large thrust force permanent magnet synchronous linear motor (PMSLM) used in space electromagnetic launcher (EML) was presented. Firstly we introduce the structure after analyzing different type of motors used in EML. Then we calculate thrust force and back electromotive force (EMF) using the methods of magnetic circuit and finite element separately. We research on motor design method for this PMSLM. The finite element method analytic result is corresponding to the calculated result which verifies the correction of the analysis and design of the PMSLM used in space EML.
