Abstract :
An analog baseband chain for WiMedia MB-OFDM UWB and China UWB standard is presented. The baseband chain consists of a fifth-order chebyshev type low pass filter with two switchable cut-off frequencies. A programmable gain amplifier based on enhanced source degeneration architecture is also included. The chip was fabricated in TSMC 0.13-μ RF CMOS process. Measurement results show that the analog baseband realizes voltage gain from 6 dB to 48 dB with 2dB/step, NF of 14-18 dB over 1-264 MHz and IIP3 of 10 dBm at minimum gain mode. The cut-off frequency can be digital controlled as 264 MHz or 132 MHz, supporting Wimedia MB-OFDM or China UWB standard respectively. Power consumption is only 18 mA with 1.2-V supply voltage for either I or Q branch.
