Abstract
Triggered vacuum switch (TVS) shows good performances when used in the field of pulsed power system. The time delay and lifetime are the important features of TVS. Massive experiments are carried out to measure and analyze the time delay and lifetime characteristic of TVS with multi-rod system. The results show that the time delay is strongly influenced by the polarity effect. The lifetime experiments were repeated 1000 times under two different operational modes, respectively. After 1000 times repeated experiments, TVSs are not damaged. The results prove that the TVS with multi-rod system can work a long lifetime excess of 1000 times at two operational modes.
