  • Abstract
    Interactive voice response (IVR) is a technology that allows a computer to interact with humans through the use of voice and Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) tones as input signal via keypad. IVR systems are typically intended to service high call volumes, reduced cost and improve the customer experience. Here we proposed a system to provide student´s detail for their parents if communicated through a mobile number provided by the educational institution. A GSM (Global System for Mobile) module with a registered SIM Card is interfaced with the microcontroller (ATmega162). Request for data is made through a GSM Phone line and a pre-recorded voice guides the users to select their option. As GSM modem receives the DTMF signals from the user, these are decoded and corresponding action is taken by the microcontroller. Based on the key received the database is accessed for the details through the USART interface. By providing the Registration number and password of a student, the parent can get details such as Attendance, Aggregate of Marks and other activities instantly through a SMS.
