  • Abstract
    In this paper, we propose a new improved interleaver that shows very robust performance under the condition of adding any periodic errors at the input of the deinterleaver. In the S-band digital mobile satellite broadcasting system, periodic errors at the input of deinterleaver will be occurred when the vehicle runs through between two GFs at strictly constant speed maintaining exactly the same distance from two GFs. Our results using a transmission simulator show that the BER performance of the proposed scheme is superior to that of the conventional periodic interleaver when adding the periodic errors at the input of the deinterleaver. Also, it satisfies a few important characteristics of the conventional periodic interleaver.
