Abstract :
A system that calculates the particle size and fluid area from a blast furnace burden surface image is developed. Off-line test results of the calculation algorithms show that a spatial frequency calculation using the power spectrum of the image is sufficient for the particle size measurement. In addition, a spatial differential of maximum intensity of the sequential image is suitable for fluid area measurement. The system is installed and operating
