Abstract :
This paper presents a design approach of Ku/K band Tripler of spectral purity with harmonics and fundamental suppressed below 40 dB (typical) from 15.9 GHz to 17.7 GHz and better than 30 dB at 18 GHz of output frequency. The conversion loss is around 7.4 dB at the designed input fundamental frequency of 5.59 GHz for a low RF input power of +1.0 dBm at the circuit input. The active device used is HEMT (CFY-67) of Infineon. The circuit is fabricated using planar thin film technology (MIC).
