Abstract :
A near-field model of antenna array which is combined with the uniform geometrical theory of diffraction (UTD) is presented to analyze the near-field and far-field of an airborne antennas array. Approximate model of the airplane structure is employed to obtain the computed field. A major feature of this analysis is that when the receiver exists in the near field of the array it can be considered in the far field of each element of the array because of the tiny size of the element. Furthermore, the UTD is very suitable to compute the electrically large structure such as an airplane. The analysis of both the near and far field of an airborne ellipse planar array has been made in this paper, and the results have been obtained This model can be widely used in the EMC prediction for antenna array system in a complex environment.
