Abstract
In this paper, equilibrium point analysis (EPA) and Monte Carlo modeling are conducted to evaluate performance of sliding frame R-ALOHA protocol for real-time ad hoc wireless networks in a fading environment with error channels, which include throughput and the average message delay. Terminals with Poisson message arrivals and Poisson message length are analyzed. Transmission errors and capture effects on the R-ALOHA in the presence of multipath and shadowing are also taken into account by the EPA model. The results reveal performance characteristics of the R-ALOHA system and also show effectiveness and correctness of the developed models.
