Abstract :
This paper introduces a new method for performing sensitivity analysis in composite system reliability. This method is based on the calculation of shadow prices of various system components or areas. Compared to other measures, shadow price based-technique does not require either repair duration time or failure rate in the assessment. Moreover, it can be performed for one load scenario or multiple loading scenarios. The method is used to determine the sensitivities of unserved energy to system constraints. The method is demonstrated on the IEEE Reliability Test System.
