Abstract :
The use of Wireless Mesh Networks has been increased to a great extent as it remains as a reliability promising technology. Secure routing in Wireless Mess Networks (WMNs) is a needful operation at all times as the notorious activity increases with the increase in security schemes from time to time. Maximization of Quality of Service (QoS) is also one of the key areas in the current WMN research. In this work, we analyze some of the most recent routing security schemes that have been proposed and proved to be efficient. A secure routing scheme, Secure Routing with QoS Amplification (SRQA), that not only provides routing security but also serves as a means to increase the quality of service in the network, is proposed here. Security is provided by the usage of polynomial bivariate key along with one way has chain (a combination of Hashed Message Authentication Code and SHA1). Simulation analysis in the network simulator shows that the proposed scheme performs well in maximization of throughput. This work clearly illustrates how interference reduction can directly increase QoS in the WMNs at large.
