  • Abstract
Ray tracing is a widely used technique to predict propagation effects in mobile and personal communication environments: outdoor macrocells, street microcells, and indoor picocells. Ray tracing is used to identify all possible ray paths between a transmitter and a receiver in multipath channels. In the paper we describe a 3-D ray tracing algorithm. We use the UCFDTD model to simulate radio wave propagation of irregular buildings. Then we plot the path gain at 900 MHz calculated using the MWFDTD model along the vertical and horizontal route, respectively. For comparison, in the same figures we also plot the path gain calculated using the urban canyon model
