Abstract
Wireless sensors networks are ad hoc networks comprised primarily of small sensor nodes with limited possessions, and are hastily rising as a technology for large-scale, low-cost, automated sensing and monitoring of various environments of attention. Cluster-based communication has been proposed for these networks for various reasons such as scalability and energy efficiency. In this paper, we investigate the problem of adding security to cluster-based communication protocols for homogeneous wireless sensor networks consisting of sensor nodes with severely limited resources. The proposed method ensures data confidentiality and the authentication between the nodes. The main advantage of the proposed system is the node capture attack does not affect the security of other nodes in the network.
