Abstract :
User discrimination such as indoor/outdoor/incar user discrimination is a key issue and a real challenge in mobile networks as it deeply impacts the coverage and the load parameters, as well as the deployment strategy of an operator. This paper describes a statistical method - based on likelihood ratio function and Neyman Pearson test - to define the proportion of each type of users. This estimation is based on measurement reports of the mobile available on standardized protocols and interfaces on the network. This method can then be implemented by the operators on their networks, independently of particular manufacturers implementation.
