Abstract
Based upon a modeling technique of power systems, called the “component oriented modeling technique (COMT)”, this paper applies the small gain theorem and μ-analysis to establish a stability assessment method for interconnected power systems. Although the stability criterion provides only the sufficient conditions, it permits a direct and fast stability assessment of power systems that may be nonlinear time variant and unbalanced in three phase structure
