Abstract :
A high-performance deblocking filter for AVS HDTV application is proposed in this paper. Optimized filtering order and effective filtering process are applied to improve the system efficiency. Parallel processing of filtering operations, data reading, caching, transposing and writing is realized, which facilitates filtering operation while reducing temporary data storage. With data caching/transposing module, the data reuse strategy in vertical and horizontal filtering is implemented. Further, pipeline structure is adopted in filter operation module to improve the working frequency. The simulation shows that it requires 168 clock cycles to filter one macro block (MB). When the working frequency is 100 MHz, this deblocking filter is capable of deblocking with 1080HD (1920×1088, 72fps).
