Abstract :
H-point sampling, a general approach for nonregular sampling with control of reconstruction errors, is presented. This approach can be applied to any projective operator. Best basis subband coding schemes and optimal hybrid discrete-cosine transform (DCT) subband coding schemes are excellent procedures for locally implementing (in the time or frequency domain) optimal nonregular sampling
