  • Abstract
Multi-band orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MB-OFDM) is an efficient approach for ultra-wideband (UWB). However, MB-OFDM is characterized by poor spectral properties that cause a high degree of spectral leakage and cyclic prefix symbol extension leads to a reduction of the bandwidth efficiency. Hence, Multicarrier transmission like orthogonal wavelet division multiplexing (OWDM) will become a better solution to OFDM. Further, in this paper, the performance of MB-OFDM UWB and MB-OWDM UWB in Rayleigh fading channels is evaluated and compared through computer simulations. In this evaluation the Bit error rate (BER) is used as performance measure.
