  • Abstract
In our current work, we study the EMC problem that involves the usage of an electroencefalographer in an environment infested with electromagnetic radiation produced by a GSM transmitter mobile phone station. The above mentioned problem is of great concern during the last few years due to the expansion of mobile telephony. A part of the measurement setup is used at an experiment in Aeginition Hospital during which the effect of EMFs (electromagnetic fields) on EEG (electroencephalogram) is studied. As mentioned above, the scope of the current study is to evaluate the possible interference of the GSM signal of a base station on the EEG signal. One may easily realize that this subject is very important because the electroencephalographers of most hospitals are functioning in EMFs that are created by GSM transmitters.
