Abstract :
The family of international standards for mobile communications IMT-2000 includes amongst others the Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (UTRA) proposal, which consists of two modes: frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD). Both are in principle wideband CDMA (W-CDMA) systems. Conventional detectors like the RAKE receiver do not decrease the multiple access interference (MAI). For a further improvement of system capacity multiuser detectors (MUD) should be applied. But the computational effort for such algorithms is high. In this paper a new approach based on linear MUD with FFT speed (Vollmer et al. 1999) is investigated for the high rate data transfer mode in UTRA-FDD.
