Title :
A factory data model as a common basic CIM language
Abstract :
A conceptual factory data model for expert systems in a factory environment is presented. The model is a prerequisite for data storage in a factory database, and is important for integration with standard factory software. The local data of three different tasks in a factory-production planning, quality assurance, and maintenance-has been collected. The interdependencies of these tasks and the necessary information exchange between them has been analyzed. The result is a factory data model which emphasizes the conceptual similarity of the three tasks
