Abstract
An analytical cross-layer model for the saturation goodput and delay of IEEE 802.lie wireless local area networks (WLANs) operating simultaneously under the enhanced distributed coordination function (EDCF) basic access (BA) and request-to-send/clear-to-send (RTS/CTS) medium access control (MAC) protocols is derived. A comparison between numerical and simulation results is carried out assuming the IEEE 802.11a physical (PHY) layer.
