Abstract
Conformal slot array antennas have been widely used and intensively investigated in the past decades. As the radiation characteristics of the conformal arrays are quite dependent on the curvature of the surface on which the slots are cut, the analysis of the radiation fields is a boundary value problem and usually very involved. In this paper, an efficient technique is provided for the analysis of conformal slot arrays on super-spheroid. The radiation fields of the conformal array antenna are expressed in terms of a series of vector wave functions. Numerical computations are implemented for a variety of configurations of the slot arrays. The technique employed in this research can be easily extended to conformal arrays on any rotationally symmetric surface and find its wide applications in conformal antenna design.
