Abstract :
The possibility of satellite communication systems using UWB signals is considered recently. UWB schemes are proposed in IEEE 802.15 TG3a and terrestrial short-range high-speed communications have been mature. In this paper, the possibility of UWB satellite communication(SATCOM) systems using cognitive radio(CR) is considered and a kind of sinusoidal modulation Gaussian pulse used for UWB SATCOM is put forward. The initial results show that sinusoidal modulation Gaussian pulse has flexibable spectrum configuration and it is suitable for CR wireless radio. Therefor UWB SATCOM towards CR has broad application prospect.
