Abstract :
Renewable energy projects are developed worldwide. Wind energy form one of the main part of the renewable energy project. Wind farm consists of numerous number of wind turbines. Each turbine has its own standalone earth grid. The earth grids of these turbines are bonded together to the supply substation earth grid. Under fault condition at locations, substation or turbine, the earth potential rise could exceed the allowable limits and jeopardize the safety of human. This paper analysis the fault current distributions between wind turbines earth grid and the main substation under fault conditions. Furthermore, it details the spread of each faults and its impact on nearby earth grid. Moreover a case study is included.
