Abstract :
A new approach to designing a small printed quadrifilar helical antenna (PQHA) is presented. The printed wire is spiral in shape. The entire system is designed using Ansoft HFSS. A size reduction of 43% is obtained compared to a conventional PQHA. A dual band antenna working in L1/L2 GPS application is realized with a good gain and a good circular polarisation. Good agreement with the experimental results is obtained.
