Abstract
A new formulation for studying electromagnetic wave propagation in a large and complex scene is presented. Two regions have to be distinguished in the propagation environment: the region close the source and the region far from the source. Concerning the far field zone, asymptotic methods as ray tracing methods are now widely used for field prediction. However They do not take into account effects of objects close to the source. The characterization of the source and its close environment can be done either by near-field techniques or by exact methods. The coupling formulation presented in this article aims at including in the far field prediction the effects of objects located in the near field zone of the source.
