Abstract :
The handovers procedures are essential for providing mobility to a wireless network user. The convergence of wireless networks and IP-networks has identified a need for the handover procedures at IP layer. This paper discusses some major problems in providing IP layer handover solutions. It also explains proposed solutions for the problems. The solutions are described by considering cellular wireless technology. However, the solutions are generic and can be applied to any other wireless technology
