Abstract :
There are ways in which the management of information can be given a formality and set of disciplines on behalf of the User. Thus whilst information will continue to be expensive, there are ways in which its control can be so sharpened up that its related costs can be forecast more accurately and kept within target. Profitability after all depends upon comprehensive planning and loss avoidance. The methodology of design must constantly be refined and optimised to meet the requirements of different organisations for different projects. However, there are distinct ways in which the information generated during design can be accumulated, organised, filtered, updated, stored and progressively directed towards meeting user requirements. This can obviate the need for those concerned in producing and reviewing user documentation to recompose at a later date what might have become lost or fragmented during design
