Abstract :
Several linear array processors are developed for two-dimensional (2-D) FIR and IIR digital filtering. The input signal is processed in a column-by-column or row-by-row scheme, so an extremely high processing speed is reached. The speed is high enough for real-time image processing and computer vision. The developed array processors possess high regularity, simple data communication schemes, and pipeline and/or data-driven format. The array processor for IIR filtering is developed by combining the uses of the new array processors for 2-D FIR filtering and existing array processors for 1-D IIR filtering
