Abstract
The authors examine the throughput/delay performance of slotted ALOHA-type networks under dynamic jamming procedures. A Markovian decision model is formulated for the study of network´s performance, and optimal (from the jammer´s viewpoint) decision rules are found. Implementation and observability issues for the resulting Markov decision processes are discussed, and two different jamming procedures are considered: previous slot information and current slot information. The jamming is of the on-off type: a finite average jamming power constraint is imposed, and the decisions are taken on the basis of the number of simultaneous transmissions in either the previous or the current slot. Numerical results are used to compare the performance of the corresponding optimal jamming policies.<>
